Bill Bundy and Ellison Smith formed a partnership in 1986 to handle civil litigation matters. Mr. Bundy concentrated his practice in the area of construction litigation while Mr. Smith handled environmental and eminent domain litigation. In 1989 Rick Bybee joined the firm, leaving what is now known as the S.C. Department of Transportation where he handled eminent domain and contract litigation. Thereafter Stan Barnett became an associate in the firm, leaving the US Army Corps of Engineers where he handled construction and environmental disputes.In 1994, Smith, Bundy, Bybee & Barnett, P.C. was established and , has distinguished itself as a premier civil litigation firm concentrating in the areas of construction, eminent domain, environmental contamination and permitting, land use, business disputes and disputes with insurance companies.
